Tramping is the leisure activity of many New Zealanders and involves walking in the bush. Although tramping is the Club's core activity, we host a wide
range of other recreational pursuits. We welcome newcomers and membership is not a prerequisite to experience what we have to offer. Our activities are lead by experienced Club members and we cater for all
grades of fitness and experience.
We host these activities:

If you're seeking adventure, then you've found it here! Wellington is central to many of
New Zealand's bush areas and you don't have to travel far to enjoy the splendour of our rugged backcountry.
Local areas visited include the Tararua,
Rimutaka and Haurangi ranges. We also travel further afield to Lake Tarawera, Waikaremoana, Taranaki, the Kawekas, Kaimanawas, Tongariro National Park and the Ruahines. On long
weekends we venture further afield to the South Island to sample the alpine beauty of the Nelson Lakes National Park, the Marlborough Sounds, Mt Richmond Forest Park, Kahurangi National Park,
the Seaward and Inland Kaikouras and the Abel Tasman National Park.
Some of our scheduled activities include social trips
where the emphasis is on recreation rather than sport, for example basking in a hot pool followed by a gourmet meal in the secluded Kaweka Forest Park, sea kayaking in the Abel Tasman National Park, or wine
tasting while cycling through some of Marlborough's finest vineyards. We also schedule family outings in the hills such as the popular "Dads and Lads, Mums and
Lasses" weekend trips, which always draw a crowd. Take a look at our trip schedule which features day and weekend trips that we feel sure will appeal to you.
The club also runs a number of instruction courses during the year aimed at up-skilling members and non-members.
