Bevan spent two months on this journey, mainly by train. On the way he travelled through Mongolia, Beijing, and Shanghai, down the Yangtze River, Tibet, and Guilin.

Mountaineers: What makes them tick?

Traditional research suggests mountaineers are thrill seekers and risk takers, but recent research of New Zealand mountaineers paints quite a different picture. Dr Lee Davidson, Senior Lecturer from Victoria's Museum and Heritage Studies programme is the person who’s done this research, and tonight she’ll be letting us know what she found out.
