Ruapehu Lodge
Ruapehu Lodge - Photo by Brian Johnston
Located on the active slopes of Mt. Ruapehu, our Club is proud to own a luxurious lodge nestled in the tiny ski community of Iwikau Village.

Within skiing distance of the nearby Whakapapa ski field, the lodge has the capacity to comfortably sleep 32 people. It serves as a year-round base for people who want to enjoy the surrounding Tongariro National Park.

With so many outdoor activities available in the central plateau, where else are you able to enjoy skiing, snow boarding, walking, mountain biking, climbing, fresh air, or just simply lounging with the mountain at your doorstep? Originally designed as a "simple mountain hut" and later transformed into a very comfortable lodge, many enjoy this facility which plays an important part in the Club's activities. The lodge is a big asset to the club and we are pleased to offer it to members and non-members for reasonable rates. Contact our for booking enquiries or download this brochure (PDF ).

The Club owns Paua Hut which is located in the Rimutaka State Forest Park. This park is a short drive from central Wellington and the track to the hut is an easy two hour walk. It has a gas stove, comfortably sleeps 10 people and is available for private bookings.
